Our 4-row helical cutter head offers an exceptionally smooth finish, while the 2-row helical head is designed to balance surface quality and motor load. The true helical head offers true shear cut: blades are set at an angle to shear the timber and eliminate tear-outs. The blades are made from top-quality tungsten carbide, so compared with the HSS planer blades, this helical-style cutter head offers you a smoother cut, a much lower noise level, and super durability.

Upgrading a planer with a helical cutter head could overload the motor, but this cutter head would NOT. Thanks to its 2-row design, your planer can function with fewer amps, reducing the chances of the breaker tripping when compared to other brands. Helical 2 Row planer head.

I cannot recommend this item enough. For the price and performance I am 100% I made the right choice both in buying from this company and the 2 row version. The packaging is top notch, and using the YouTube video it is very straightforward. Does take several hours to install. Make sure you have snap ring pliers…. I had to go buy some. Product works amazing and much better finish than the OEM blades. Also…. Just cleaning and oiling all the planer parts during the install is an added benefit and overall my machine works better than new. If you are on the fence, don’t be. Awesome product.

DW733 replacement

Replacement wasn’t too hard if you have decent skills and tools. Fit well. Video instructions didn’t address how to calibrate the 2 jackscrews for parallel. I got lucky and when I reassembled it was within .002 of each side which is acceptable. But could present an issue for other installers. But very happy with the cutterhead!
