This helical cutter head for the Dewalt 734 is a perfect fit. Easy to install, works so much better and quieter than the old knifes. Last longer. The company is quick to respond to questions and to fix any issues. The price was more than fair. Quality was great.

Only suggestion would be to more clearly label which screws and inserts the FBT head requires for replacement. Had to look around a bit and worry they'd be wrong.

I purchased the cutter head at the same time as the planer. The video on the website was invaluable to me and made installation of the cutter head relatively simple. I’m getting beautiful cuts on curly maple and figured walnut with no tear-out. Couldn’t be happier. This is going to save me untold hours over using my drum sander.

These router bits are perfect for making your own tenons. Take the time to make a couple test cuts to set the height perfectly so the edges are centered, the fence position (across the width of the tenon) is not as critical. Once set-up, run one size in bulk and you’ll have stock for a long time. Only need two passes, instead of four with a roundover bit, I used a shaper with a power feeder to try to keep the sizing as uniform as possible.

This is well thought out tool that is also very well executed. Quality is very high as are results using it. Very pleased.

I put off buying a helical head cutter for my planer for a few years now due to the expense. I found these and they are very reasonably priced, so much so that I bought one for my dj20 jointer.
Haven’t used them much but love how well they work.

Countersink Drill Bit with Adjustable Depth Stop 10-Piece Set

I've been accumulating router bits for 50 years, but was stuck on the rebuild of a baby grand piano lid. Find Buy alone had this crazy 1 1/4 Horse Nose with a bearing and 1/2" shaft that was perfect. Promptly delivered, and again, just perfect!

I put this new helical cutter in my Dewalt planner after one of the original blades came loose and did some damage. It shipped fast and installed easily following several videos. I was up and running in less than 5 days. Wow! The cutter leaves a very smooth finish, even on the slow speed. It cost less than some of the other better known brands available. Definitely worth it.

Skipping to the end result, the cutter head is quiet and does an excellent job. Though I have not used it much yet, it appears sanding may not be required for most planed items. The unit is also very quiet, a huge improvement over the original flat cutters.

The cutter head was packaged very well.

The tools provided work for the individual cutter heads. The tool that comes with the Dewalt works to remove some of the screws, but you will need Allan head (Preferable long handle) to remove some screws. You will also need inner and outer snap ring pliers. The instruction card provided with the cutter head comes with photos highlighting what screws and snap rings that need to be removed. All of this was done in great detail and a good explanation. Note that these instructions were likely written by someone in China, noting they used the word "put" when they meant "pull". No big deal, I spent a lot of time in China, and wish I could speak/write Chinese as well as they speak/write English.

However, when it came to the most critical part of the disassembly and reassembly, the cutter heads, the instructions were completely silent and included no photos.

I could see that the cutter head was fit with pressed in bearings and that I would need to remove the flat cutter head blades and retainers to have clearance to remove the cutter head. It comes out much like a cam shaft in an engine and only removeable in the direction of the larger bearing. I used a piece of wood and a ballpein hammer to remove the old cutter shaft. The same is true of the new shaft which must be installed prior to installing the carbide cutters. Care should be taken when installing the shaft ensuring that both bearings are close to hole alignment when driving the new shaft in place. The larger bearing engages first and you must drive it in a short distance prior to the smaller bearing entering its journal. I used some blocking and a soft rag between the blocking and the shaft to hold the small end in position (it wants to droop) as I drove it carefully into the hole. Once started I used the wood block and hammer to drive it completely in place. Take care in doing this to ensure the bearings allow the snap rings to be reinstalled in their grooves. Some mention of this entire process would be helpful for most users. The only other recommendation I would make is a little more detail on how much torque to apply to each of the carbide cutters. As I went back to check and tighten all cutters I managed to shatter two of them. The assembly comes with spares so no issue, and I ordered an additional 10 cutters for the future. The cutters were aligned but I believe I was simply torquing them to a higher torque than they could take. A torque spec would be nice. I have torque wrenches down to 1/4" drives and having a spec would have been helpful as a guide.

I don't mean for any of this description to sound negative, only suggestions for improving the instructions. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the end result and consider it excellent value.

I put off purchasing helical cutters for a while due to the price and availability for my planner. I got in the mood again and found FindBuyTools and they carried what I needed for the planner at such a reasonable price that I bought it and one for my jointer too. Haven’t had much opportunity to use them much yet but the little that I have, I am very pleased with them.

Works as advertised and getting the results that I wanted. It also helps the price was a lot lower than the competitors. Thus save time and money.

I am very pleased with this product. Works great and installed on DeWalt 735 without a hitch.

Not much more to say, exactly what I needed. Will be buying more bits in the future

The quality is fantastic. Accuracy is dead on to the stock head. I have a DRO on my planer that I had calibrated to the stock head. I planned some wood to test and measured with calipers and it was literally dead on to the precision limit of my measuring tools. I was incredibly impressed by that. It would have been perfectly acceptable for the diameter of the cutterhead to be a couple hundredths of a mm off and for me to need to recalibrate my DRO. The fact that I didn't even need to says huge things about the manufacturing precision of this product.

Finish on wood is fantastic. It's maybe a 180-240 grit finish by my estimation. And grain direction is no longer a problem. Noise is reduced and chips clear easier. Fantastic upgrade.

Installation takes a while and videos help. More by virtue of the design of he planer than any failing of the kit. But it's a process. Set aside at least an hour, maybe 2. It would have been good for the instructions to mention that the purpose of the included socket was not to do socket things, but to use as a stinking surface to remove the old cutter head. I ended up using a bit of aluminum tubing because it didn't occur to me. It was included though, which was a nice touch!

You'll need some larger box wrenches and sockets to remove certain nuts. Again, more of a planer design issue than a findbuytool issue.

Ordered the Domino cutters (complete set 4mm through 14mmm) These are a much better option for DIY Dominos than Woodpeckers. FindBuyTool cutters have the little micro ridges cut into them where the WOODPECKER versions do not. As long as you aren't trying to make through tenon cuts for decoration (99% of the time you will not) these are the Domino cutters you need since they also cut the ridges in the domino that will allow glue to distribute evenly across the tennon.
