Cuts fine but it feels the lack of power in comparison with the original knives. I suppose for this type of low power machines, the cutterhead must be designed to have the minimal possible number of cutters.

I must admit to being a little nervous about FBT at first, I was attracted by their keen pricing but their lack of presence on Trustpilot concerned me. However some positive reviews on a few woodworking forums gave me the confidence to order a helical cutter for my Makita 2012NB planer.
From the day I ordered until the day it arrived at my house I was kept informed on its progress. It arrived beautifully packaged in a vacuum formed polystyrene box, complete with 2 robust Allen keys.
With the help of YouTube videos installation was done in 2 hours with no issues, then took a further hour to install the cutters. The quality of the engineering is superb.
The upgrade has transformed the machine, it has doubled the depth of cut capability and the finish is superb on what was already a very capable planer.
Installation tip. remove the Allen bolt holding the original cutter head on BEFORE removing the locking device that prevents the cutter head from rotating otherwise it’s almost impossible to turn the Allen key without the head spinning.
And FBT, please give torque settings for the cutters! Otherwise Bravo to everyone at FBT!
