I have 2 Dewalt 735 planers and the one with the helical cutterhead cuts better and is a lot quieter. I plan to change the other planers over too! This was a Hugh improvement!

This is an absolutely quality cutter head at a very reasonable price. it has more cutters than the other brands so it's a smoother cut.

Am very satisfied with the vendor (price, shipping timeliness, item quality, etc.), as-well-as the cutterhead (well made, high quality, not cheap).

I just bought the upgrade spiral cutter for my ridgid planer and I can't believe the difference it makes. I have owned a portable planer for 25 years, 3 different makes and they were all the same, even the DeWalt. Less noise, less marks, less vibration so the height adjustment doesn't tend to go up by itself, the wood doesn't stall half way in, even with hardwood. I was hesitant to buy because of the price but in my opinion, it's well worth it. For my planer the installation was very simple. And the shipping is very rapid. All in all I'm really satisfied, I just hope it will stand the test of time. I recommend this to everyone who has been having issues with standard knives and swearing when having problems with the feeding of wood.

This head noticeably reduced run noise and produces a great smooth cut. It was a great upgrade to our planer.

So I bought my Delta 22-540 planer off of the original owner and loved it other than the chatter. I had been looking at replacing it with a helical planer, but didn’t want to fork out $800-1500 so I explored the option to clean up, regrease, and replace the cutterhead for my trusty Delta.

Out of the box, the new cutterhead felt solid, slightly heavier than the original. I ordered extra blades and the recommended 6Nm torque wrench as well. It only took me 6 hours for disassembly, cleaning, replace cutterhead and reassembly. I was blown away at the quality of the cut, MASSIVE noise reduction, and ease of dust/chip collection compared to my original straight blade. Honestly a little upset with myself for not taking pre/post dB readings, but it’s a marked improvement from before even without measurements.

Right out of the tube, it cut great, it didn't need sharping. It has good steel and a comfortable handle. I like the way you can track your order from start to finish.

When I plane hard and soft wood it is as though I sanded it with 220 grit. No bogging down the motor. Well worth the money.

The conversion process was very straightforward, following the videos. One minor point: the bearings don’t require grease. With an interference fit bearing, it is supposed to be a tight fit, and no grease is needed. After the upgrade, the DW733 is working great and producing an excellent finish. So far, I’ve planed redwood (slow grown pine) and Sapele and I’m very satisfied with the results.

Received the tool, cutting edge profile was ready to work. Initial shaping very good and the length of tool is just right. Highly recommended.

This seems to work great. Just watched a video and it went in just like it said. I actually found a broken part on my planer when I took it apart.

Got it installed just a few days ago using an online video. The pamphlet is a difficult read. One improvement I’d recommend is providing new snap rings for the gearbox chain. All went well. Planed some hardwood and pine too. All came out smooth as butter. About a 220 finish. I like it.

AMAZING! Installation was a bit of a challenge, but much smoother surface, a lot less load on the planer motor, and about half as noisy.

This helical head cutter is much better than the original chopper blades! It was not hard to install - took me about 2 hours but I was making a video at the same time for YouTube. I thought the color instructions were fine - just make sure to keep up with all the pieces!

I was skeptical about this planer head from reviews on YouTube and other sites, but I took the plunge and decided to purchase it from FindBuyTool and I'm so glad I took the leap. First thing first FindBuyTool is in my opinion is probably the best place to buy from with exceptional communication and fast delivery. They even contacted me when I uninvertedly place the wrong torque wrench for the cutter knives which saved me alot of problems. They are A1 in my book. Now for the elliptical cutter. Installation was breeze everthing fit perfect and it took about 30 minutes to complete the whole exchange, and around minutes to install the knives. I suggest purchasing the torq wrench along with the head it makes installing the knives effortlessly and takes out the guess work, not to mention it saves from breaking the cutter from to much pressure being applied. I personally think it is a wonderful planer head, it cuts so cleanly and smooth no markings on the material whatsoever. I can honest say that it made the planer at least 35% quieter is not more. It sounds more like a trim router running 1/2" cove bit at full cut 1 pass. I took 1/16 pass on 9" hickory wood and it wasn't loud at all without ear protection and it came out perfectly smooth even on dimensioning speed. On finishing speed was even better and still not loud. In my opinion it's a great cutter and exceptional place to purchase from. Thanks goes out to FindBuyTool for exceptional service and purchase. Looks good and the correct size. Needed it as a replacement that I haven't used yet.

The tool is sharp out of the box. The grind is not my preference so I am slowly changing the grind. I do this to most of my tools. I highly recommend the product.

Working perfectly. Will order additional bits when needed. Only place I will go.

I bought these to use to cut wood on a metal lathe...I made my own holders and they are my "goto" cutters now...I make custom pens and use very expensive wood and don't want a cutter problem...I have ordered these twice recommend them to everyone...

I bought two different sizes the only thing they say 1/2 bit but the shaft on one of them is bigger I think 5/8

Nice quality product, fit perfectly, the 4-sided carbide blades will offer long life.

This is such an awesome upgrade for my Delta jointer. Quiet and leaves a smooth finish even on figured wood. Wish I’d upgraded years ago!
