Helical Cutterhead for Delta DJ-20 37-350 37-365X 37-680 37-680X 8" Jointers

This replaced my 2 year old Dewalt half grand miter saw that maybe saw about 20 hours of work. After shelling out that kind of money I didnt want to invest in another boat anchor again so I opted for a less expensive option. And low and behold I am incredibly surprised at how well this one is made.

-Blade alignment is super easy and simple (why dont all of them come with this)
-Motor is powerful and doesnt have the dreaded initial AMP shock that blows breakers
-Adjustments are easy and simple to do
-Unit if hefty and isnt going to move easily despite load or angle of cuts
-On each side of the saw there are two pieces that can be loosened to widen your surface or as they say it has "extendable table size".

All in all this thing has been awesome, its gotten more use in a month than my dewalt did over two years and is working like a champ. Everything is simple and easy to use and adjustments are smooth and nice without being jarring or difficult. I really like the gentle startup too where as my past 3 miter saws would trip breakers a lot of initial use, this hasnt done it yet. Nor does it kick like a lot of them do on initial startup and potentially messing up when youre cutting. Its a winner in my book!

Right now I have only tested this on wood and it definitely chops through quickly. I was using this to make some speaker boxes and cut them to size with MDF and it did the job as I was expecting. The sliding of this saw, as well as the ability to set angles + have a shadow line guide all at the same time is a great thing.

Overall, this is a fantastic saw. It has a ton of features and more than I explained in my paragraphs. Being able to cut at an angle while cutting an angle + a shadow line guide is an awesome thing for sure, lol. Changing the blades on this is about as simple as any other saw. It cuts through wood very nicely and while it doesn't collect all of the dust, it does collect some so it's not like I'm stuck in a full cloud.

I've finally used this enough to feel comfortable giving this a review. This is a good saw. The motor is powerful, more powerful than I expected it to be for the list price honestly. It cuts cleanly, quickly, and accurately. Weight is what I would think is about average for these style saws. You could theoretically move this from place to place, but I would recommend trying to just find one spot for it and keeping it there, or, as I did, find a spot below my workbench to store it and then grab it when I need it. You don't want to be having to move this around all the time. It's a decent size and a little cumbersome to move. I have only used this to cut wood. I have not cut plastic, anytime I need to cut PVC piping I use a handsaw, and I have not found the need to cut metal with this as of yet. So I cannot speak to those two functions. I like that it has a LED shadow line with it, and the adjustable angles are very nice. Overall I think this is a good saw to have for a homeowner who will need to use it occasionally, if you do serious woodworking projects or are needing to use something like this on a daily basis I would spend a little more money and get something more professional. But for a starter saw or just something for occasional use this is a great option, and I would recommend it.

This is a 100% upgrade from the stock butterhead. Installation was easy, but it should be mentioned somewhere that a gear puller is necessary to remove the bearings from the original butterhead. Overall, very satisfied with this product, and the price is unbeatable.

The shipping service was great, with information all the way during transit. As for the equipment, I am blown away it works better that anticipated and I really had high hopes. All in all a great purchase experience. Well done to Findlay Tool.

Replacement was quick and easy. Took approximately 1 hour from start to finish. Other than initial test cut after installation I haven’t used it but test cut was clean and square. Was also a significant noise reduction.

Wow is about all I can say. This thing is awesome. The table surface, the miter gauge slots, the sturdiness of the alignment is way more than I expected. I've done some test cuts and the 4200 RPM blade speeds makes for fast straight cuts. The overall design is just very modern and solid, it just can't go out of alignment. Ease of use is top notch, all the locking controls are easily accessible and work smoothly. It looks to be a versatile very well designed saw at a great price. I have occasional use for a little saw like this- I like the Bosch and even bought one for my niece and her husband for the wedding gift. I've used it, its very nice but I think this is probably better and a much better value that really appeals to me. Six stars.

The experience of taking my surface planer apart and putting it back together with the new helical cutter head was rewarding. The old cutter head had three blades where the new helical head has four rows of cutters leading to a very smooth surface. The exchange of cutter heads, while time consuming, is well worth the time spent. The result is worth the cost and time spent and I would recommend the installation of the upgrade helical cutter head.

Easy install, recommend getting the torque screwdriver for the cutter bit screws- makes it go allot easier, works amazing, much quieter and much smoother feed, made my 20 year old jointer feel new

The 12 inch model is more popular, but this 10 inch model is perfect for the garage and taking to a remote job... Really light and powerful. Fast adjust, and solid detents. I use this to build segmented bowls and it cuts perfectly.Very happy with this saw.
Good blade. If you are going to be cutting a big batch, maybe a fancy new blade would be a good upgrade.

Coming from an old Crafstman 10 in 15 amp contractor's saw that also had a cast aluminum table. What I really wanted this saw for was portability and the rack and pinion fence. I do all my work outside of my garage and while the Crafstman had an integrated stand with wheels, this one is light enough to carry small distances, but I just have a cheap folding hand-truck I keep with it to move into my backyard.

There is quite a bit of plastic and aluminum in this saw, but it still feels quite sturdy! I do all of my woodworking and metalworking in my backyard (California weather!) All of my large tools have to fit through a standard door on the side of my garage and be easy to set-up. When looking for a rack-and-pinion fenced table saw this was the one in this price point with all of it's features and great reviews. I'd call myself an advanced amateur DIYer. I can work with dimensional lumber and do fine woodworking. At $300 LESS than the DeWalt, I'm happy I can spend that money on other tools now! FBT has really upped its game here...this ain't no toy, that's for sure.

Great product, easy to set up -well well put together and out performs my expectations of it. I am a hobby worker but so glad I invested in this machine. This would certainly be perfect for anyone running a small home business as well as a enthusiastic hobby type of person

I am extremely happy with the performance. The cutterhead arrived in excellent condition and installation was straightforward for anyone with reasonable mechanical skills. The effort required to push a board over the helical cutter is substantially less than it was with the original blades and the noise level is reduced. The quality of cut is superb. The price was reasonable and delivery time acceptable. Overall, I am extremely please and this is an awesome upgrade to my jointer.
