Upgrade your DeWALT 13-inch wood planer with the helical cutterhead, designed specifically for models DW735, DW735X, and DW735-XE.
Installing the helical cutter head is straightforward, and the 56 carbide inserts it contains will minimize the tear-outs and the need for post-planing sanding compared with helical spiral cutterheads of other brands.
Any option Includes:

- 60 x Carbide inserts
- 60 x Screws
- 2 x Wrenches
This well-manufactured helical spiral cutterhead is an OEM head, so you need to install the cutter head before mounting the carbide inserts. The tungsten carbide inserts are made from 100% raw material, so compared with HSS knives, we provide you:
- Perfect surfacing quality that you do not need to sand.
- 40 times longer lifetime thanks to the 56 carbide inserts.
- Feed faster and more consistently than the original cutter head.
- Same diameter as the original cutterhead.
- Less tear out on all types of lumbers.
- Producing much smaller chips and your dust collection system will function more efficiently.
- Changing blades is effortless and does not require adjustment.
- No need to re-sharpen the blades any longer.
- More than 50% less noise.
- The recommended spec for torquing the knives is 6 Newton meters. Please refer to the manual for guidance on installing the carbide insert knives when replacing them.
- In case you're unable to locate a cutter head that matches your machine model, we also provide an option for a custom cutter head.
- For replacement carbide inserts please click 15x15x2.5mm-R150-4R0.5 blades.

Installed on my Dewalt 735. It arrived quickly and well packaged.
I took my time and watched some good videos, highly recommend “the Snekker Show, the video I wish I watched before installing a Shelix.” At the 20:00 mark he removes the gear you have to swap over to the new head before pulling the old head out of the planer. This insures you won’t damage it during the removal process. Plus his video is detailed enough you can almost follow it through the swap.
Take your time and install it right the fist time and you’ll love it.

My helical cutterhead was easy to install, the only issue was removing the old three blade head. I am milling stair treads for my daughter and son in law for their new home. This head works great, the finished cut requires very little sanding. I am very pleased.

Watched several YouTube videos about how to remove and replace the cutter head. Thankfully had all the needed tools. Went flawlessly and runs like a charm. First piece planed was only 1/4” thick Cocobolo. Beautiful results!

The cutterhead is very well made. It fits the planer perfectly, was well packaged and does a great job. The instructions were marginal, but there are enough YouTube videos walking through it that it was fine. The first shipment got lost, so they had to send it again. That was a little frustrating, but the product is great.
