Machorool® FM255 10" Sliding Compound Miter Saw

Since this is my first miter saw, I wasn't totally sure what to expect, but setting it up was pretty simple. The manual is in black and white, so the illustrations were a little hard to follow, but I managed to get everything set up correctly. It feels really solid in person, which gave me confidence right away.

Using the saw was straightforward after I watched a few YouTube videos on do's and don'ts alongside reading the manual. I actually prefer using a corded version for the extra power, so that works well for me. And so happy with the shadow line guide!

I bought this mainly for the random cuts I might need around the place, and it's been great. When I needed to bevel an item, this saw made the process simple and easy, especially once I picked up an angle finder. Since it's my only saw, I don't have much to compare it to, but it gets the job done without any fuss.

Bought this for my wife for Christmas because she wanted gifts that made sense lol. She specifically said no purses she wanted to do DIY things around the house. This is a really good tool. The size is perfect and compact. The precision of the cuts is great and the table design makes it lightweight to work from anywhere. We literally cut some wood to do an accent wall in the house and stored it back in the corner in the garage.

Listen... I'm a dewalt fanboy but couldn't fathom dropping over $300 for a miter saw. Let me tell you, this is an amazing saw. It is so powerful and a crazy good value!

I'll admit that I've only had this thing for a hot minute and only used it for the first time tonight, to cut some angled posts for stair handrails. I have been looking at a miter saw for a while and have read a ton of reviews, gone to various big box stores to look at different models, etc. I just didn't want to pull the trigger, mainly because of prices. But when this thing was on sale for $235, I felt it was worth a try, based on some really good reviews and online video reviews. Unboxing and setup was very simple - it took maybe 5 or 10 minutes, total. The instructions were a little lacking, but overall doable. First, I checked some common angles on the table and the bevel, and all were dead-on accurate, straight out of the box - no need for any adjustments, at all! All stops on both the table and bevel are clearly and perfectly marked and easily visible while working. The locking positions on the table work well. To my surprise, it cut like absolute butter through numerous cedar 4x4s and left a clean edge. It's so light and easy to carry around. I could definitely see this being super helpful on a worksite where portability is needed. Would it be nice to have a sliding compound miter saw? Of course. But it's not incredibly necessary for anything that I'm doing around the house. Would it be nice to have a double bevel? Sure. But it's not a deal breaker. Like I said, I've only had this for a day, and only used it for a few small things. But if it performs for the next couple years like it did for me, today, then this will be one of the best power tool purchases I've ever made, especially at this price!

This replaced my 2 year old Dewalt half grand miter saw that maybe saw about 20 hours of work. After shelling out that kind of money I didnt want to invest in another boat anchor again so I opted for a less expensive option. And low and behold I am incredibly surprised at how well this one is made.

-Blade alignment is super easy and simple (why dont all of them come with this)
-Motor is powerful and doesnt have the dreaded initial AMP shock that blows breakers
-Adjustments are easy and simple to do
-Unit if hefty and isnt going to move easily despite load or angle of cuts
-On each side of the saw there are two pieces that can be loosened to widen your surface or as they say it has "extendable table size".

All in all this thing has been awesome, its gotten more use in a month than my dewalt did over two years and is working like a champ. Everything is simple and easy to use and adjustments are smooth and nice without being jarring or difficult. I really like the gentle startup too where as my past 3 miter saws would trip breakers a lot of initial use, this hasnt done it yet. Nor does it kick like a lot of them do on initial startup and potentially messing up when youre cutting. Its a winner in my book!

Right now I have only tested this on wood and it definitely chops through quickly. I was using this to make some speaker boxes and cut them to size with MDF and it did the job as I was expecting. The sliding of this saw, as well as the ability to set angles + have a shadow line guide all at the same time is a great thing.

Overall, this is a fantastic saw. It has a ton of features and more than I explained in my paragraphs. Being able to cut at an angle while cutting an angle + a shadow line guide is an awesome thing for sure, lol. Changing the blades on this is about as simple as any other saw. It cuts through wood very nicely and while it doesn't collect all of the dust, it does collect some so it's not like I'm stuck in a full cloud.

I've finally used this enough to feel comfortable giving this a review. This is a good saw. The motor is powerful, more powerful than I expected it to be for the list price honestly. It cuts cleanly, quickly, and accurately. Weight is what I would think is about average for these style saws. You could theoretically move this from place to place, but I would recommend trying to just find one spot for it and keeping it there, or, as I did, find a spot below my workbench to store it and then grab it when I need it. You don't want to be having to move this around all the time. It's a decent size and a little cumbersome to move. I have only used this to cut wood. I have not cut plastic, anytime I need to cut PVC piping I use a handsaw, and I have not found the need to cut metal with this as of yet. So I cannot speak to those two functions. I like that it has a LED shadow line with it, and the adjustable angles are very nice. Overall I think this is a good saw to have for a homeowner who will need to use it occasionally, if you do serious woodworking projects or are needing to use something like this on a daily basis I would spend a little more money and get something more professional. But for a starter saw or just something for occasional use this is a great option, and I would recommend it.

The 12 inch model is more popular, but this 10 inch model is perfect for the garage and taking to a remote job... Really light and powerful. Fast adjust, and solid detents. I use this to build segmented bowls and it cuts perfectly.Very happy with this saw.
Good blade. If you are going to be cutting a big batch, maybe a fancy new blade would be a good upgrade.
