The true helical head offers true shear cut: blades are set at an angle to smoothly shear the timber and eliminate tear-outs. The blades are made from top-quality tungsten carbide, so compared with the HSS planer blades, this helical-style cutter head offers you a smoother cut, a much lower noise level, and super durability.

Upgrading a planer with a helical cutter head could overload the motor, but this cutter head would NOT. Thanks to its 2-row design, your planer can function with fewer amps, reducing the chances of the breaker tripping when compared to other brands. This helical head effectively reduces the strain on the motor. This leads to a more harmonious cutting process that requires fewer amps to operate. As a result, compared to other brands, it is less prone to tripping the breaker and consumes less power overall.

  • Upgraded insert knives: radius-corner design eliminates the lines and scalloped surface, and reduces the possibility of breaking the blades.
  • This cutter head is made of high-quality steel and has a durable body that has been black oxidized for long-lasting protection against rust.

The helical spiral cutter head is machined to perfectly fit your DeWalt DW733 (including DW733-QS) or DW734 planer (thicknesser).  This helical head is an OEM-size head, so we recommend installing the cutter head before mounting the carbide inserts.

  • 40 times longer lifetime than HSS blades.
  • Feed faster and more consistently.
  • Producing much smaller chips and your dust collection system will function more efficiently.
  • Changing blades is effortless and does not require adjustment.

  • Significantly reduced noise.
  • The recommended spec for torquing the knives is 6 Newton meters. Please refer to the manual for guidance on installing the carbide insert knives when replacing them.
  • We have upgraded the compatible blades from 15x15x2.5mm-R150 blades to 15x15x2.5mm-R150-4R0.5 blades. Please do not use the different blades mixedly (If you are not sure which blades you are purchasing, feel free to contact us). In case you're unable to locate a cutter head that matches your machine model, we also provide an option for a custom cutter head.

Helical 2 Row planer head.

I cannot recommend this item enough. For the price and performance I am 100% I made the right choice both in buying from this company and the 2 row version. The packaging is top notch, and using the YouTube video it is very straightforward. Does take several hours to install. Make sure you have snap ring pliers…. I had to go buy some. Product works amazing and much better finish than the OEM blades. Also…. Just cleaning and oiling all the planer parts during the install is an added benefit and overall my machine works better than new. If you are on the fence, don’t be. Awesome product.

DW733 replacement

Replacement wasn’t too hard if you have decent skills and tools. Fit well. Video instructions didn’t address how to calibrate the 2 jackscrews for parallel. I got lucky and when I reassembled it was within .002 of each side which is acceptable. But could present an issue for other installers. But very happy with the cutterhead!
